My name is Alessandro Pellegata and I am Assistant Professor (tenure-track position) of Political Science at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milan. I am currently involved in the ERC funded project "Reconciling economic and social Europe: values, ideas and politics (REScEU) supervised by prof. Maurizio Ferrera.
Previously, I had research fellowships at the University of Milan (2011-2015; 2016-2018) and at the University of Siena (2015-2016).
My main research interests are in the field of comparative politics, in particular electoral competition and government alternation, political representation, public opinion, EU support and Euroscepticism, political corruption.
In the REScEU project I supervised the conduction of a public opinion and an elite survey in seven EU member states. Furthermore, I coordinate the content production of the public opinion section of EUVisions.
With Giovanni Carbone (University of Milan) I have developed the Africa Leadership Change (ALC) dataset, that tracks all the leadership changes occurred in sub-Saharan African countries since 1960.
